What’s inside the planner

Where your 18 hours go. Legal Update I (4 hours), Legal Update II (4) and 3 hours of contract coursework are required. The other 7 are electives, the only hours you really choose.

The first-renewal trap. A first renewal isn’t 18 hours of CE. It’s 90 hours of qualifying education, and it can’t be deferred.

What the $200 deferral fee buys. 60 more days of active status. Not one hour off the 18.

How late is too late. Up to 6 months: renew with a late fee, but your license is inactive meanwhile. 6 months to 2 years: reinstatement. Past 2 years: the exam again.

If you supervise agents. The 6-hour Broker Responsibility course counts inside your 18, which leaves you 1 elective hour.
