stepstoneuniversity.com is run by StepStone University, a StepStone Realty, LLC company (TREC CE Provider #10162). This page says what the site collects, why, and who else sees it. We do not sell your personal information.
The free renewal planner
When you ask for the planner we collect your email address so we can send it. If you tick the box beside the form, we also record that you agreed, the exact sentence you agreed to and when, and add you to our mailing list for occasional notes on Texas CE. If you don’t tick it, you get the planner and nothing else. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Class registration and accounts
Registering for a class collects the details the registration form asks for, such as your name, email, phone number and TREC license number. Registrations are managed on theblacksheephub.com, StepStone’s own system. Payments are handled by Stripe; your card number goes to Stripe and never to us. When you complete a class we report your hours to the Texas Real Estate Commission, which needs your license number. If you sign in, your browser’s local storage keeps you signed in.
Measuring the site
- Our web server logs requests, including IP address, browser type and the page asked for, as every web server does.
- Some pages count anonymous events, such as a form coming into view or being sent, using a random key that lasts for one visit. No name, email address or other identifier goes with them.
- The site uses the Meta Pixel, which lets Meta (Facebook and Instagram) tell us whether our ads led to a visit or a signup. Meta sets its own cookies and handles that data under its own policy.
- The homepage chat assistant is automated. What you type goes to the chat service StepStone runs on theblacksheephub.com so it can reply.
Who else sees it
The companies we use to send email, take payments (Stripe) and run ads (Meta), and the Texas Real Estate Commission for CE reporting. Each only gets what it needs for that job. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email with the link at its foot. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email admin@stepstonetexas.com or call (512) 213-0195. Records we must keep for TREC stay for as long as TREC requires.
